Huntington Area Food Stores: Going, going...

I'm still getting over the death of Trios bakery. Best bread in town (especially Brooklyn Bread) and cakes that were good enough that I didn't feel compelled to make my own. Cardinali's is more "looks great, tastes blah". Bak'n on Broadway in Greenlawn (great scones) closed inexplicably.

To make matters worse, for the past 6 months or so, the quality at the Waldbaums in Greenlawn has slipped tremendously. What's up with this place? All of a sudden, the produce was all either pre-packed salads or apples and oranges. Green beans now come pre-packed. Mushrooms, pre-packed and a choice of button or sliced portobello. Basil -- pre packed in tiny container at the equivalent of $22/lb. The lettuce selection is either depleted or disgusting looking. Very few green things, very little looks good.

Are there any interesting bakeries left? I live closer to Greenlawn, but for groceries, I've been schlepping to Fairway. Any alternatives? Wild by Nature is too expensive.
