Hungry Cat report - (first timer)

love41 | Apr 2, 2005 11:27 PM

hello all-
this is my first post, so bear with me----

I went to Hungry Cat this evening as they opened. I sat at the bar and ordered 2 drinks for myself and guest which came quickly. We were given 3 menus to choose from for cocktails, wine, and food. After much anticipation, we ordered the Oysters given a variety to choose from......
only a half dozen and 1 crab cake...that everyone has written about so much with it's 100 year old recipe. the bartender seemed knowledgable and attentative.
the Oysters were delivered by David Lentz himself with 2 Clams to start also. they were all delicious!!!!
they crab cake followed along with a second glass of wine i ordered. It was moist without the frilly addons that usually come inside as if it was a gardenburger. though, i must say, not worth the $14 for the one crab cake, but good. When my bill came to $60 dollars for the 6 oysters, crab cake, and 3 drinks. And i left a hungry little cat :) that had to get some sushi next door to suffice. i was shocked, but that is the nature of the beast.
If one must eat, then they must pay.

I will be back for cocktails, not for dinner though.
