Former 'Hound JB Bannister Seen on Chopped!

ninrn | Aug 26, 201707:56 PM     6

Surprised no one has posted about this already: Great former Chowhound JB Bannister competed recently on Chopped Grillmasters. (Season 4, ep 2, Airdate: August 8, 2017). He played well, but left a basket ingredient (artichokes) off the plate and was chopped in round two.

I'm sure many long-time Chowhound members (those few who are left) miss Mr. Bannister and his immense knowledge of grilling and meat cookery. He was sort of hounded off the site (pun intended) by moderators who felt he was promoting his South Carolina-based, whole-animal, open-fire charity cooking event, Bovinoche, in some of his posts. From what I saw, he almost never mentioned the event by name, and, when he discussed it at all, it was in the context of an anecdote told to make a point about about cooking meat, but, oh, well...

It was fun to be able to attach a face to a person whose posts I've read so often.

You can still see the whole episode on the Food Network website.
