Hot spicy flu-fighting halászlé soup or equivalent

Jeff Haushalter | Oct 30, 2005 07:27 PM

Seeking a hot, aromatic, cough-inspiring, nostril clearing, sinus draining soup to ward off the flu. Not unbearably Habanero, just something to make a healthy individual sniffle, tear, and sweat like a cold can of soda on a hot day.

Trust me I've tried them all(Chinese Hot-sour, Tom Yum, halászlé, Pho, chili, etc.)

So far I've been adulterating the amazing Pho (Pho Saigon in Glendale Heights) with some peppers and chili sauce. The Opart Thai House has a couple flu-fighters on the menu.

I'm just seeking the grail. Any suggestions?
