I notice that on just about every food board I browse, people are always talking about the "authentic" Jewish deli and how the ones in New York are the best, especially if you want the world's best pastrami.
I say, who cares?! I am originally from LOS ANGELES, but now in the Bay Area, and frankly, I could care less about the "New York" deli experience. Los Angeles Jews can go toe-to-toe with New York Jews and win any day! :-)
What I want is something that approximates the wondrous flavor of LOS ANGELES Pastrami, the BEST Pastrami in the WORLD! Who do I have to kill in order to get something that tastes like one of the following:
1. Johnnie's (Culver City)
2. The Hat (Pasadena)
3. Canter's (Fairfax)
4. Langer's (Downtown)
5. Philippe's (Downtown)
Where can I find THAT in the Bay Area?! I'm tired of hearing about New York! Give me some LOS ANGELES flavor!
