A Hot Dog Deprived Town

mr. mouther | Dec 22, 2003 05:55 PM

My experience of LA has been hot dog deprived. I am looking for solutions. I’ve lived in Canyon Country, Glendale, Silver Lake, and Atwater Village and frequently find myself running around in need of a hot dog (and a smoothie – the combination is brutally perfect, but save the smoothie recommendations, they’re easy enough.) I eventually found a place called Mr. Tastee’s in Newhall that helped me survive up in the Santa Clarita Valey for a while, but these other areas have decidedly poor access to hot dogs. Have I been taking the wrong streets? All I need are places that sell hot dogs in these areas. Is there any hope?
Or is LA just hot dog deprived compared to my former homes in South Carolina and Chicago?
