Left an awful movie midstream at the Ritz last night; hadda have something meaty at Famous Deli
on 4th St. Hubby ordered his fave: corned beef on rye; I ordered mine: tongue on rye.
Usual deal: we each deconstructed our sandwich, half the meat on each side of the bread, putting aside a half sandwich to take home for tomorrow's lunch. No way are we risking a dislocated
jaw. High quality meat; tasty as usual, but the tongue on my sandwhich was fridge cold. When
we got home, I noticed that my husband's corned beef had been hot to begin with, as it was still warm.
Should I have asked to have the tongue in my tongue sandwhich warmed? (Before ordering I mean. And, I definitely should have sent the sandwich back to be warmed after-the-fact)
It would have been so much better! I have no problem with being a tad uncouth, but do any of you do this? Anyway, today's lunch will have it's meat pre-warmed in the microwave before going on top of the bread. Oh, heaven.
Well worth the now $15 for an enormous sandwich with quality, tasty, lean meat.
