"Hot Breads" chain

There is an outpost of this chain in Woburn, MA (north of Boston). I checked it out yesterday and was impressed. It wasn't quite what I expected. French pastry meets Indian ingredients is the best way to explain it. We tried a Chicken Tikka Croissant, a Chicken Masala Puff and a Paneer Bun. The fillings were tasty and SPICY- this is not food for the mainstream American palate. We also picked up a cinnamon roll which was perfect- just the right amount of crunchiness in the pastry, with tons of cinnamon. I also brought home a loaf of 7 grain bread which I'm enjoying very much.

This chain does not look or feel at ALL like a chain. Everything I tried felt handcrafted, tasted fresh and not over-processed. Nothing tasted like it came from a truck shipped from the corporate warehouse. They've got locations in Georgia, Texas, California and Michigan. I'm wondering if my local outpost is par for the course. If so, I'd recommend giving them a try!
