Hors d'Oeuvres for Rosh Hashona

I've been invited to bring some hors d'ouuvres for Rosh Hashona dinner this week. I thought I could score with some goodies from Russ and Daughters but the problem is they're already getting chopped liver and gefilte fish. How can I comptete with that?

Any ideas on starters I can make myself that won't clash with the liver and fish, but will still be dazzling on their own ?

Recipes appreciated!
