Horrible service at Spoon

eatsalot | Aug 2, 200206:34 PM     3

Went to Spoon last night to meet some friends for a drink. Walked in, and the hostess was on the phone and had her back to me. When I finally got her attention and asked if there were any tables available that evening, she said no and turned her back to me again. So I sat at the bar, and the bartender turned to the hostess and said 'I told you I don't want anyone sitting at my bar unless they are eating.' The hostess said "She's having a drink and leaving." When my friends arrived, we had a drink and the whole time the hostess complained that we took up space at the bar that the servers need to walk to their tables. we tried our best to squeeze against the bar, but being more than a size two, apparently we took up too much room. we finished our drink and the hostess came over and handed us our jackets and said 'I just want to remind you that you will not be able to eat here tonight.' Every server in there was rude, the bartender was rude, and the hostess had a particularly nasty attitude. I will never go there again.
