My kids and I love good horchata. We order it at every Chowhound and J. Gold rec Mexican restaurant that we go to. Many places that serve good to excellent food dispense Horchata that comes from a mix. I have been unable to find a great version in L.A. The best IMHO is at La Super Rica in Santa Barbara. It tastes as if it has some sweetened condensed milk in their recipe. Dommy! suggested that I get it at Mama's Hot Tamales Cafe but the two times that I went there, since tht Little Sheep Feast, it was unavailable. The food was really good though. I will try again at lunch today.
So Chowhounds, for Horchata, who reigns supreme?
P.S. As this is my first Chowhound post that is not in response to another I want to thank Thi N., Dommy! and Jerome for their great posts over the past two years or so that have been the beginning of so many great chowtrek/adventures!!!
