I want to make some lobster oil. I'm not going to add any carrots or spices. I just want to make smelly lobster oil I can use for fishing. My problem is that every recipe I find explains that you crush the lobster carcass (2) and then cook them with veggies and spices until bright red. The recipes never really explain if the carcass's are from already cooked lobster or not. I have two lobsters in the fridge, but I don't know if I can steam the lobsters and then use the carcasses after I eat them, or if I need to kill the lobsters and take all the meat out, dry the uncooked lobster shells, then break them up and cook them with oil. Does anyone have any detailed information on this?
