Why no Homemade Ice Cream in Jax & surrounding areas?

lazysusan | Mar 21, 2005 07:24 PM

Since transplanting here from Boston and New York, I've yet to find any ice cream worth leaving home for. What gives? I've always known that Boston is the ice cream eating capital of the US, but surely someone down here enjoys it enough to make it & sell it. Crush makes delicious and interesting flavors, but what if I don't want the $$$ dessert that comes under it. And don't say "What about Dreamette?" Please, it's just not good ice cream! Marble slab doesn't do it for me, either, just to warn you. It's nowhere near homemade.
Thanks for any input.
