Hoban St. Paul

I had heard that Hoban (on the border btwn Eagan and St Paul) was the best Korean in the TC, but after eating there, I disagree. The biggest problem was that the food was so far from spicy. I know that everyone is going to say that in Minnesota you have to specifically request spiciness, but I disagree in this instance: at Shilla, another Korean fave in the TC, when we order something that is billed as spicy or is traditionally spicy, it comes that way and you have to ask for it to be toned down if that is what you want. Korean food in my experience is quite spicy.
At Hoban, we started with the Mandoo (dumplings) which were quite good. We also got the spicy chicken wing appetizer which was not at all spicy, despite the review at the front of the restaurant citing that dish as fiery. The Bulgogi was pretty bland, as was the chap chae, which, although not a traditionally spicy dish should have some flavor. The kimchis were also quite bland. Overall a disappointment, and next time I want Korean I will go to Shilla unless someone has another suggestion?
