Himalayan food in Sacramento

New restaurant on Broadway in the 1700 block, next to New Edokko. Went there for dinner last night and wasn't sure what to expect. Turns out that they serve the foods of India and Nepal, and they do a mighty fine job of it.

In a previous life, this site was an Indian restaurant. The new owners have repainted (strange colors - royal blue, orange and green) and bought all new tables and chairs. They have run a similar restaurant in Davis for 7 years and decided to expand. They opened (quietly) just a week ago.

We ordered three dishes plus garlic Naan and they were all nicely done. The only criticism I might make involves the lamb dish we got. It was well prepared, but, for some reason, the lamb was completely overwhelmed to the point of the meat, itself, being tasteless.

Very nice people. Our waiter said that as soon as the salad table arrives, they will be offering a lunch buffet. I'll give it a try!
