High Tea at Sweets and Savories

Vanessa | Feb 6, 200604:42 PM

Wanted to post a note on this board about high tea at
Sweets and Savories. Someone on this board had recommended I hold a bridal tea there. Thank you so much for the recommendation--it was outstanding!

The tea started with currant scones and cinnamon madeleines. Next we were served cucumber and dill tea sandwiches, followed by smoked salmon sandwiches with apricot chutney. One more round of tea sandwiches came then: they had a butter/bleu cheese spread topped with slices of fresh strawberries and basalmic syrup. Finallly, they brought out shared desserts which were outstanding: 3 kinds of sorbet, a lemon tart with whipped cream and blue berry compote, creme brulee with fresh raspberries and a molten chocolate cake with kiwi coulis and lychee nut ice cream. We were also served three different types of tea. All of
this is $20 per person, which I think was very reasonable. I also ordered a couple of bottle of champagne which went well with the goodies. To finish the meal they brought out a housemade chocolate truffle for each person. The flavor of the day was Valencia Orange--very delicate, but delicious. The service was very friendly and informative.

I would highly recommned Sweets and Savories for high tea anytime. However, be sure to make a reservation as tea is served only on certain days and you must have a reservation due to the small size of the space. Enjoy!
