Ancora's getting all the talk but High Hat Cafe next door is just as good. I've been three times since they opened, and each time has been a winner. Great food at middle of the road prices. Burger is excellent, as is the catfish. Tamales are fantastic, too, and the gumbo is some of the best I've had in town. Cajun-style: thick, dark, with lots of chicken and sausage. BBQ shrimp tonight were good, but not great. I think I'll stick to one of the other dishes from now on. And I think their desserts could use a little work, although the lime icebox pie is very good. All in all it's a great new addition to the food landscape.
