I've been meaning to start re-using my brine from when I treat myself to a jar of bubbies pickles. So I just filled up my empty jar with peeled garlic cloves...mmm, pickled garlic. Will this work? Is it okay to screw the lid back on the jar or should I leave it open and cover it with a cloth to let the gas from fermentation escape? About how long will this take if it works at all?
