HENRY'S END : BETTER THAN EVER

We had a memorable dinner this week at HENRY'S END .
I highly recommend the Fall Menu.
The first time we had been back since they began their Fall Game Menu. We thought it would be less crowded mid-week than on the weekend since they got a rave 26 in the new ZAGAT guide...up from 24 last year.
The food was outstanding, better than ever.
We had the game pâté as a starter and the Wild Boar Ragu with Truffled Polenta and Venison with red cabbage as main dishes.
The Ragu was heavenly...rich and complex, set off by the delicious not too creamy polenta. The venison was outstanding,perfectly grilled.
The dessert was a praline bread pudding topped with home made vanilla ice cream.
The wonderful bread from Caputo, salad and vegetables were all excellent.
The service was, as always excellent,with our wonderful Bonnie serving up anecdotes and suggestions.
Mark has made another excellent and beautifully planned and executed menu.
It is a shame the tables are so close together, but with food like this, who cares?
We are going back again next week for more.
