The Helmand

There has been plenty of discussion on this board regarding this restaurant. I made my first visit last week (rescheduling a DAT at Hawthorne Lane) and was very impressed.

The kaddo was spectacular as advertised. I was told it was banana squash rather than pumpkin on my visit. The ravioli filled with leek and scallions were great, and the lamb chops were tremendous. The same lamb chops would be $10 more at Kokkari.

Overall I must say Helmand truly impressed. Total charge for two was $60 (we brought our own bottle of wine - $10 corkage), which is an incredible deal given the quality of the food. I would highly, highly recommend Helmand and can't wait to return.

My only complaint, turn the lights down a bit.
