hell's kitchen & amy's bread (long)

went to hell's kitchen for dinner this weekend. i haven't been in awhile and was extremely impressed with my meal. my bf and i shared the guacamole; it was fine, but as usual not spicy as ordered and for $10 it's quite a small portion. we did like the homemade tortillas that came with it. not disappointed we ordered it, but will definitely go with a different appetizer next time. a complimentary appetizer was given also, cornbread with a black bean dip, which was very tasty. my bf had the chicken&cheese quesadilla. i tasted a bite and it was very good, better than your average quesadilla. i ordered the pork loin special that was VERY good. the meat was tender and flavorful and came with portabellos, potatoes, and asparagus on the side. for a sweet ending we shared the coconut flan w/ macaroon. mmmm. the cappucino was also better than average. overall, it was a great experience. the only (minor) disappointment was being told it would be a 30min wait, that turned into close to an hour, but we sat at the bar and had a couple of margaritas while we waited for a table so it wasn't a big deal. despite how busy it was- they really pack them in there- the service was still quite good. my bf and i plan on going back to dinner here soon, so i would love to hear any recs from you chowhounds about what recommend here.

one more thing, despite the great dinner, we did cross the street to amy's bread because i was still craving more sweets (i didn't want to share dessert and still had room left for more). we got the coconut dream bar and no nut brownie. wow was that good. any favorites from here i would love to hear about.

thanks, chowhounds.
