Hebrew National franks with casing

John Fox | Oct 17, 2003 07:16 PM

I love hot dogs with skin (casing). Until now, I've never seen Hebrew Nationals that had the skin although someone from the company told me that they are available at a few kosher butchers. Also through Zabar's (mail order) and a place called Jonathan's Deli in Morris Plains. I've since found a store that carries them. Goldberg's Kosher Meats is located at 2628 Rt 516 in Old Bridge. Easy to get to; Parkway to exit 123. rt 9 for a few miles to rt 516. On the right hand side by Chicken Holiday. These franks are a good size (7 to a lb) with that nice snap you can only get from a dog with skin. One of the better all beef dogs around. A distinct spicing. Worth seeking out. One of the few that I would travel a little way for along with the 5 to a lb dogs with skin sold at Best Provisions and served at Syd's in Union.
