Anyone else been here?
My wife and I had a terrific meal Sunday night.
It was the annual Wild Game Dinner, which the chef does for two weeks in November.
I thoroughly enjoyed every element. And the place is beautiful -- an old mansion next to the Fox River.
It was a five-course meal for $47 with an available wine flight for an additional $15.
First -- wild boar rillete and goose pate with cranberry chutney
Second -- pheasant soup with carmelized onions and rabbit ravioli (it was outstanding!!!)
Third -- field greens with duck breast and pistachios and a sherry vinaigrette (sp?) (I'm not a big salad person, but I all but licked my plate)
Fourth -- antelope, elk and venison with a wild blueberry syrah sauce along with wild mushroom wild rice pilaf
Fifth -- Tart cherry mousse with Godiva liquor
I believe the dinner continues through Thursday.
The regular menu looked great, too. Most prices were in the high teens to low 20s.
ps. Mukwonago is a far southwest suburb of Milwaukee. It's about 60-65 miles from Rockford, Ill.
