Had some pho today with the coworkers. Between the 7 of us, there were several orders of the Pho Tai (beef pho), Pho Saigon (beef combination - - includes tripe, tendon, and meatballs), and Pho Saigon Xe Lua (Pho Saigon on steroids - - translated literally means "Train Pho", as big as a train as my mom used to say).
This restaurant has received mediocre reviews on this board, and while it was nothing to write home to Mom about (nobody can touch my Mom's pho - - I will take this claim til the end of my days), I must say it is a good break from the sushi places on Ventura. What I like about it is there is a good variety of Vietnamese dishes available, and aside from the Pho, they seem very Southern Vietnam-centric, which is the stuff I am most familiar with. Also the photographs on the walls are really nice - - really nice portraits of Vietnam.

Pho ran about 6-7 bucks a bowl.
