Hearth received many wonderful comments by hounds back around January. We finally got there 30 May , and regretted every moment. Food portions were miniscule, at 28$US for two small slices of steak, etc etc. Service was slow and disorganised with 1 hr wait before food appeared. Our companions, the wine buffs, said the wine list prices were an affront to sensibility. The only way we knew we were in manhattan were the prices and the faux-Brit accent of the server (probably from Ozone Park or similar). The food itself was of variable quality, some quite good. The final straw was the chocolate tart dessert - actually pudding is an shell redolent of My-T-Fine. How the mighty have fallen.
