I just wanted to post to say thank you to the Chowhound Boards for introducing me to the restaurant Hearth. I sat at the chef's counter and watched every activity and commotion of the kitchen. I thought colorful and warm personalities at the restaurant were well reflected in their dishes. Also, everything carried an air of simplicity, but with much contrast of color, texture, and flavor. From bread, lamb, to panna cotta, I enjoyed every bit of their fragrance, presentation, and flavor. I had never liked panna cotta, but I opted for it as it sounded relatively more interesting than other offerings on the dessert menu (the day's special was apple tarte tatin, which I imagined would be too much after the lamb dish). After experiencing an abundance of tastes, minimalist white presentation of panna cotta except for amethyst-colored drops of huckleberry compote brought me such a sense of ease. Panna cotta had just the right degree of sweetness and creamy body that balanced so well with tannic aftertaste of the berry compote.
I am definitely going back to Hearth. Thank you again.
