Headed to Healdsburg - advice needed

Megan | Jul 6, 200410:15 PM

Twice I have asked for info when I headed north for our (now) annual Bay Area wine tasting trip - 2 yrs ago Napa, last year Healdsburg- and both times I got very helpful advice. I hope you can help me again.

My SO and I are taking my parents, who live on the east coast and have never spent much time in the wine country, up to Healdsburg (not so much taking as accompanying...) We will be there for 3 nights - Sat, Sun and Mon in case restaurants are closed some of those days - in 3 weeks. Last time we went to Mirepoix (score), Ravenous (very bad experience - they ran out of 1/2 the menu and didn't tell us until long after we'd ordered), and Willy's Wine Bar (fun). This year, we would like to avoid Ravenous given our last time there, and most likely revisit Mirepoix.

As for the other two nights, we were thinking maybe Zazu and Zin, but we are open to suggestions. I would like to eat in Healdsburg at least one night so we can walk back to the B&B. We considered Dry Creek but feared it being overhyped/overpriced, Ravenous in spite of last year but are just too afraid to get burned twice, and Manzanita but did not know anything about it. Would love input. Oh, and as for my parents, my mom hates really loud restaurants, but other than that they are pretty easy going. Also, my dad loves a reasonable wine list.

Thanks in advance- believe me, those of us who are LA 'hounds envy your culinary treasures up there!
