Old Haunts and New Flavors

Hi All.

We’ll have been out of town for 8 months and while we want to hit some favorite haunts when back in town for a bit, we are looking for new options and to avoid anyone who has fallen off since we moved. We are staying in the Gold Coast, but happy to Uber, Taxi or L for good food and service.

Places we used to enjoy:
The Purple Pig
Sable
Sepia
Mercadito
Girl and the Goat
The Slurping Turtle
Monteverde
Duseks
Kumas
Sienna Tavern
Duck Inn
The Gage
GT Fish
North Pond
Quartino
Shaws (brunch)
Beatrix

We are very short on Mexican Food and BBQ in our new home – something we used to take for granted in Chicago, so suggestions other than camping out at Frontera (we may) are welcome in addition to other ideas and feedback. We’ll troll the board in advance to get back up to speed, so if you posted it recently – I’ve likely read it.

Have heard Giant Restaurant is a winner and booked a table - thoughts?

Thanks to all you hounds and looking forward to eating our way across the great city of Chicago once again!

Giant
