We used to go to Laguna Beach quite often, enjoying the Sawdust Festival and the great art shops. For the last few years we haven't made it down (to stay overnight), but when we did, one of my greatest pleasures was having breakfast at The Cottage. Great food, great atmospere and very friendly service.
We took a 'quickie (1 nighter)' this weekend to chill from all the graduations and June madness. As usual, we went to The Cottage. WOW! WHAT HAPPENED? All the inside tables are gone (it's now a shop), and you stand in line to order from a big window (like McDonalds). The Buckwheat pancakes are gone, as are most of the menu items. All the seating is outside, which is too cold for my wife and too smoky for me.
Did it change owners? When did this happen? What a major disappointment it was!
Anyone out there know the story!! Thanks.
