Hand-made tortillas and Taco Loco

I posted about Taco Loco (Mission/29th) on the thread about where to get hand-made tortillas. I just revisited Taco Loco, and thought I ought to report back on their change in format.

They've been experimenting with diversifying their menu for the last year. They've now painted new signs on the walls so I think they've got it down. No more hand-made tortillas or birria on weekends. Instead, they now do milanesas, sopa de pollo and sopa de res on weekends in addition to the tacos, burritos, tortas and assorted huevos dishes.

We split a platter of huevos con chorizo, which was as huge as we remembered. However, it was less tasty, sort of dry, and the salsas didn't do much to help as they were duller than we remembered. Beans were good, rice was totally nondescript. I'm not sure I'd order this again. However, Taco Loco is close to home, so I'm sure I'll try the tacos and tortas sometime soon. I'll post if I detect a uniform drop in quality.
