Went to Skyway on Allen and Canal today for lunch in my question for the ultimate in Hainanese chicken rice.
Results were ...
Chicken was very moist and tender. Skin was bright yellow and floated on a gelatinous layer of fat that slipped off the meat at the slightest touch. Flavoring was subtle, but a bit piquant ... garlic and ginger in the boiling stock?
I also had some achat, since I thought maybe I should eat something vegetable along with that giant plate of chicken.
I would appreciate hearing from other readers, as far as which restaurants in New York have the best Hainanese chicken rice.
