A neighbor of mine has grown a large, beautiful crop of habenero peppers. In peeking over his fence, my houndish curiousity heightened, I asked what he had planned for the small green, yellow and red latern-shaped fruit. He replied by saying that he had grown them solely in order to chop them all up and scatter them around his garden to keep various pests away.
So late last night, under the cover of darkness, I took it upon myself to rescue a few handfuls of the little-lovlies from their impending burial. (Kidding, he was happy to part with a few.)
Now what do I do with them? I've seen a couple of salsa recipes, and of course jerk chicken, but that's about it. Does anyone have any other good uses/suggestions/recipes? I'd kind of like to make them last, should I make a pepper sauce? And finally, are they typically roasted first, or used raw.
Thanks again for all your help.
