" The Guilt Trip ", Redmond - Gimmicky and Disappointing!

It is a known fact that some of the best computer engineers are of Indian ethnic background. Microsoft's heavy presence and influence in Redmond naturally led to a large Indian population. Before my trip, I was told that Redmond has some of the best Indian cuisine in the Pacific North West. Amongst which, 'The Guilt Trip' offers stand-out Indian fusion cuisine.

Well, sad to say, the food was indeed a stand-out but unfortunately, they were stand-out gimmicky and bad. Plate presentation was gimmicky and taste was bad.

"Bacon Butter Chicken" sounded enticing and interesting. Anything that cooked with bacon must be good? Right? Well, unfortunately their version was only a pathetic rendition of the world famous dish. With a few pieces of sad tasting chicken bathed in a sauce that resembled a sweet Campbell Cream of Tomato soup, the 'Bacon' in question was nothing more than a couple of burnt crispy bacon strips placed roughly on top. Man! Almost any home cook can create this dish!

Aloo and Kale Curry was another dish that ended up with similarly sad idea. Thinking the Kale is cooked soft and in abundance like a Saag ( Spinach ) Curry. The dish offered was a potato curry with unfamiliar and unappealing seasoning. The kale in question? Nothing more than a couple of greasy, oil soaked, fried Kale leaves roughly placed on top. What the hack?

Rather than presented in skewers, our Lamb Seehk Kebab came in the form of hamburger patties. However, not only the seasoning was bland, the texture actually tasted like mushy and grainy fried Cod fish Liver?! I hate to imagine the amount of fillers used in order to create this weird texture?

Hoping to savor some good curries the caliber of those I am used to in London England, this disappointing meal was more than forgetful. I wonder why Yelpers rated it so highly?!
