Fun to find freshly roasted guasanas at the Saturday farmers market in Oldtown Salinas. Jaden's Kettle Corn of Milpitas roasts them on site. A small bag of warm fresh garbanzos in the pod was a little less than two cups worth for $3. The garbanzos inside ranged in texture from creamy to slightly firmer depending on cooking doneness. They're lightly salted and taste much sweeter than raw fresh garbanzos or cooked dried ones. Guasanas are not quite as rich in oil as soybeans/edamame.

Jaden's also sells at other farmers markets in Milpitas and San Jose. However the staffer said that at some markets only kettle corn is sold or kettle corn and roasted peanuts. She was not able to pinpoint where else the guasanas are available.
