Greenville, S.C. gets a couple of baby-chains

Greenville's newest retail metropolis, Shops at Greenridge, has a couple of offerings new to Greenville.

We ate at Brix's (I'm not sure about the spelling, some cutesy derivation of "brick", as in brick oven) on Saturday. Short wait even at lunch. Husband and I both had the Margherita pizza. Eh. It really did have fresh mozerella on it and fresh basil. Predicatble slices of winter-tomatoes ,no sauce whatsoever. The dough...ick...obviously premade rounds of something more like pita bread than pizza dough, and dutifully browned in their signature brick oven. Sigh. It was edible, that's about it. Very nice selection of draft beer, though.

Across the street, and coming soon, a Doc Chey's! We eat regularly at the Doc Chey's in Asheville, and although it is by no means exciting in Asheville, in Greenville, it's gonna be one of the city's best places to eat (assuming they can mimic the Asheville location). It's right next door to the long-promised Whole Foods.
