green salad--dang

So I finally, finally made it over to Craigie St. for the Curtain for Certain prix fixe, and was bummed to hear that I didn't have a choice of appetizer. I eat green salads at home so that I can go out and eat what I want, and the other apps on the menu--coquillage of clams, mussels, and cockles w/ pancetta, sweet pea broth, and paprika oil?! lamb cannelloni w/ mustard oil?! etc. etc.--were so enticing...
But LO. A lovely mixture of spring greens and hand-picked herbs--4 of 5 of which I'd never heard of, and I'd like to think I know something about something (the only one I recognized was calaminth, unless the waiter meant "summer savory" when he said "summer Sicily"--anyone familiar w/ the latter?). Tiny, tiny ringlets of sweet frizzled onion. And a perfect Banyuls vinaigrette. Every bite was different. What a joy!
