Greek in Westchester: Niko's

My wife and I had gone to Niko's several months ago, I think the fisrt day it had opened. I was not too impressed. However, we went back for lunch today, because we felt that in order to really judge a restuarant, you have to give them some time to get organized. In short, our lunch was great. The Mousaka was light, tasty and steamng hot (very welcome on a cold, damp day), the Lamb that I had was spiced just right. The service was attentive and friendly. And, given that I love great soup, I was very impressed by the improbable sounding "Lemon Chicken Soup." The soup consisted of a light chicken broth, carrots, rice, celery, onion and a tough of lemon that was absolutley delightful on this cold winter day, but yet did not overwhelm. In fact, the soup was refreshing and tasteful, much like a bowl of springtime and sunshine. Niko's is a great taste of tradidtional greek food in a comfortable atomsphere. Well done, folks, we will be back soon.
