GREAT Thai Angel in Astoria

Kevin Meyers | Oct 15, 2004 09:58 PM

Just felt the need to post after ANOTHER great meal at Thai Angel on 30th Ave. in Astoria. Had delivery tonight, and went with the sesame chicken (I know, I know, how unadventurous and un-thai of me, but I was feeling it).

Started out the meal with crispy vegetable dumplings, which were, as usual, delicious. You gotta try these things -- they look more like spinach brownies than dumplings. VERY delicious, especially with the accompanying tangy brown sauce. Sesame chicken was nice and light, a fine alternative to the greasy Chinese food take-out that we're all accustomed to. My girlfriend got the wonderful rard naa, which was as usual, great.

Best part of Thai Angel is the guy who answers the phone speaks impeccable English, takes great care to get your order and address correct, and the delivery is speedy. I know, not a big deal, but a nice touch when you're ordering ethnic cuisine to be able to communicate your order effectively.

Thai Angel. Best thai I've found in Astoria so far, and definitely among the top three best take-out/delivery options in Astoria overall.
