Have a weekend trip to the Phoenician in December and am trying to set up dinners. We're spoiled foodies, having recently traveled to Chicago, DC, and San Sebastian. But I love the Phoenix area and am looking not so much for Michelin stars as much as fun, satisfying food experiences. Typically on a two night trip I'd do one dressier, upscale dinner, looking for great food, a "grown up," romantic atmosphere, and then one more casual night, preferably at someplace that has some authentic local character. And I would prefer keeping the drive times relatively short.
Perusing this board, as well as Eater, I have come up with some ideas, but need some local expertise to make the call. For the more upscale night, what about: FnB, Crudo, Shin Bay? For more casual/local, Cowboy Ciao, Richardson's, Citizen Public? I am sure I've missed some options, so please weigh in. Thanks!
