great restaurants in or near glen ellen

I'm a Boston chowhound heading to Sonoma this week and am in search of some last minute recommendations from fellow hounds. I've done a fair amt of research (both on this board and elsewhere) but I'm wondering:

1) Any can't miss spots in or near Glen Ellen? This is where we are staying in Sonoma. I think the Girl & The Fig is on my list; Tre Vigne (though I think that's in Napa?); I'm looking for fairly casual, bisto style food. We'll be exploring Sonoma/Napa during the days and probably won't be up for a real formal dining experience at night. We've got 3 nights. Any places I just shouldn't miss?

2) I've also done some vineyard research but I'll admit, it can get sort of overwhelming. I've been to Napa before so I've done the tasting thing before, but my partner hasn't. Though it would be great to taste some stellar wines, honestly I'm more interested in the tasting experience; meeting some really passionate vintners (or just people who work there); seeing some spectacular views/ landscapes; perhaps picnicking on grounds somewhere with a bottle and some sandwiches.
Again, our landing point is Glenellen but we'll have a car (obviously) and I'm up for traveling. I LOVE Pinot Noir and would love some great little out-of-the way wineries that have great Pinot. Perhaps a day in Caneros? But again, I'm not exactly sure of where to head there...

Any last-minute advice you can offer will be very helpful..thanks in advance...
