Great restaurant in Provence/review

We went to the Provence this past week. While we had many very good meals, the one that stood out is Auberge de la Loube in Bouox. This food was top notch and the atmosphere was perfectly Provencial. We started with a plate of hor d'ouvres (sp?) that the Chef sent out. This was enough to fill us up and was so simple yet so good; there were about 10 or so ramekins filled with homemade curried hummus, olive tapendade, braised artichokes, little quail eggs, fresh cherry tomatoes...and on and on.

After that, I had grilled/braised lambchops and my husband had the lamb stew which melted in your mouth. Sides were a souffle of spinach I think, roasted potato and a veg. The meal was rounded out with some sort of berry tart/cake with homemade strawberry sorbet and a slice of hard chocolate brownie/cookie kind of thing. Delectable!!!

We also went o La Feniere and L'Antiquare -- both in Lourmarin (where we were based) and they were both very very good. But Auberge de la Loube was hands down the winner in terms of quality, value and atmosphere!
