I've made dilly beans and dilly carrots and pickled okra, but never cucumber pickles. But I got some lovely pickling cukes in my CSA box last night, so I was wondering if anyone had a particularly good recipe. I was interested in crock-pickling (fermented) rather than just treating them like I have okra, etc., but the book I have requires that you keep the crock in a place where the temp won't go over 70 degrees. No place like that in my apartment, sadly. Assuming that this is correct, I'm back to the usual way of making pickled things. Anyone have a stellar recipe?
