Went to Hammersley's last night. They do not participate in Restaurant Week, but offered a $39 prix fixe.
As an appetizer I chose the corn/tomatoe salad with Green Goddess dressing. A great combination that worked very well together, and of course everything was very fresh.
For my entree I had the pork loin with watermelon salad. The loin was tender as can be and the sauce was very tasty. I think there was some cumin in there. The watermelon seemed to have some sort of vinegar dressing that made for a nice sweet/sour combination.
For desert I had the chocolate creme brulee with torched figs. This was very rich and delicious and featured a perfect crackly crust.
This was an extremely enjoyable meal and a great value. The portion sizes were very generous. I couldn't finish the creme brulee.
DC had the famous roast chicken. I sampled some. It is still amazine and melt-in-your moth delicous.
It's not wonder this place is a local favorite and been around so long!
