Really great meal @ Drago on Friday, but what is up with that $$$$ wine list?

house salad
minestrone soup
angle hair with the basic red sauce/garlic/basic, etc
pork tenderloin

Room still very nice after all these years, very quiet even as it filled to capacity – really a nice place to dine and talk rather that gawk. Service is over the top good, tons of guys swarming over tables. Good bread/butter. Glad I bought my own ($20 corkage, btw) because their wine list is so expensive and so overpriced that I cannot figure out what they must be thinking – the food is priced like they want you to come back all the time and the portion size and presentation also convey the same. If they filled in the list with drinkable calItalias and lesser know Italians in the $30-40 range it would benefit things greatly. I was being taken out that night by the SO and I have to say I cringed when she said where we were going, but Drago was that night for me a solid, professional dining experience.
