Great meal at Cure in Lawrenceville

Went to Cure on Friday night w/ another couple and had a fantastic meal. Service was excellent, love the look and feel of the restaurant. I had read complaints about the music being too loud, but I didn't think so at all, and, of course, I really enjoyed the selection (Spoon, Arcade Fire, Talking Heads, etc.).

Food-wise, everything was really enjoyable. Split the salumi, foie blonde, and white bean soup with kale/goat cheese among our table and everything was spot on. The selection on the salumi plate was particularly fantastic.

I had the meat pie, which was like a pot-pie served bottom up: rich and luscious. My wife's heritage chicken was perfect, with this creamy potato espuma over it. There may have been too much of the potato espuma, as it sort of overwhelmed the other components on the plate (pancetta, escarole), but it was still delicious. Did not taste the pork loin, but our friend enjoyed it, and the bites of the lamb rack I had were great.

Split the cheese plate and chocolate souffle cake with pistachio butter for dessert. Cheese plate did not blow me away, but it was good. It could probably use some fine tuning. We all loved the souffle and it went really well with the zinfandel we happened to have open at that time of the meal.

We were there for 2.5 hours, never felt rushed, service couldn't have been more friendly. The chef/owner came around once or twice, quietly, just peaking here and there to see if people seemed to be having a good time, and then would quickly return to the open kitchen.

Overall it was a great meal and experience and we'll definitely be back. You'll definitely drop a good dime here, even though it's BYOB, but, if you can afford it at the moment, I highly recommend paying Cure a visit.
