Being a NoVA-centric girl, I had never tried Addie's, a Rockville restaurant that I had read of on this board. Last night, BF and I took his mom there for a dual birthday celebration (not mine). And the meal was excellent. We started with a bottle of Abundance red wine, a wine BF and I had tried while in Sonoma, and never expected to see a bottle on this coast. Very nice. Shared the mussels - tons of garlic, the way I like it, and they were delicious. BF and mom had the ribeye - very flavorful, like it had been cooked on a Weber with real charcoal, and perfectly cooked. I had the duck breast, not something I usually order for fear of ill preparation, and it was perfect - medium rare, cherry sauce, with wild rice and organic greens. Truly divine, and not a drop left on my plate.
Very nice atmosphere as well. I would definitely go back - and soon!
