Great lunch deal at Citron - if you have the time

Cindy in Novato | Jun 16, 2006 05:18 PM

Just came back from a really lovely lunch at Citron in the Rockridge District. Both my co-worker and I had the lunch special - 3 courses for $15, and I thought it was a great deal. Roasted corn soup for the first course, a really delicious salad with chicken, bacon, bleu cheese and avocado for the second course, and a very decadent chocolate sorbet for dessert.

Service was very friendly and we felt really comfortable. The only qualm I had was that our lunch took 2 hours! And not because my friend and I were talking, but because it seemed like they were short-staffed. I don't want to give the impression that the service was bad - it was really really good. But when it's a workday (even though it's Friday) it's hard to give 2 hours for lunch - I had to refill the meter 3 times.

Other than that, if you have the time, please go to Citron. The lunch special really is a great deal. Oh yeah, also forgot to mention the really good bread - I don't know what bakery, but it was warm, thick, full of walnuts and raisins. Yum!
