A great dinner @ Yo's

deelish | Dec 9, 2004 02:17 PM

Tried Yo's for the first time this week and I have to say it will be at the top of my sushi list for a long time to come. The service was friendly and efficient, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the fish was surprisingly varied (for such a small place) and fresh, fresh fresh. There was so much I didn't get to try that I have to go back soon.

Two of us feasted on:
miso soup- well flavored with lots of tofu and seaweed and the best part was that it was the perfect temp to drink immediately

edamame-warm and salty, served with a fun origami paper bowl for the shells

goma ae-pressed spinach with a just too sweet sesame sauce, large portion

tako poke-yum yum yum, this was the top of the night, salty sour, chewy, pungent, oniony, perfectly balanced using all of the octopus

3 orders nigiri-hamachi, maguro, toro (total butter texture)
4 orders maki-akimo (sweet and mild), wasabi tobiko (knock your socks off), shitake (a little too sweet), unagi/cuke (inside out)

Total=$47. +tip.
