I'd like to post a hearty endorsement for my favorite place to eat in Brattleboro: The Top of the Hill Grill. I'm a regular, and have been addicted to this little gem since it opened about 4 years ago. It has wonderful, reasonably priced BBQ (vegetarian items, too), and fast/friendly service. The beef brisket, pulled pork, or chicken roll-ups on jalapeno cheese tortillas (with plenty of extra BBQ sauce on the side) are my particular addiction, but their sides and other menu items are excellent as well. Every year the owner puts money back into the place, so it's better every summer. (It's open May-Nov.) Most of the seating is outdoors on a deck suspended among trees; the view is spectacular. It's on Putney Road (Rt. 5 South) in Brattleboro, just a couple of minutes off I-91 Exit 3. You'll pass Dunkin' Donuts/Friendly's/McDonald's on your left. It's a small, wooden "shack" on the right about a tenth of a mile past the Kipling Cinema). I assure you I have no affiliation with this place; I just want to share the good news!
