I used to live in Berkeley and there was a produce place called Berkeley Bowl that was like Russo's on steriods. The worldwide selection, the prices...it was truly heaven.
I happen to be a grape fanatic and eat many pounds a week. I am so disappointed with the ubiquitous three varieties - green thompson grapes, red grapes and red globe grapes - in every supermaket.
I finally went to Russo's after all the rave reviews about their produce. On my way, I dreamt of finding pearlette, muscato, or superior grapes, among other varieties, only to see the standard three mentioned above.
What gives? Where can I find more interesting grapes choices?
